I’m proud to have been a part of the BC Liberal government that has got BC back on track. BC now has a balanced budget, a strong economy and a financial surplus to invest in our communities. We’ve delivered on rapid transit, an Olympic sized rink, high tech, youth programs and many other investments for Port Moody-Westwood. We’ve opened new operating rooms at Eagle Ridge and built new schools. To keep that momentum going, I’m enthusiastically supporting Iain Black as our next MLA. His track record is outstanding and I know he’ll be a strong voice for all of us in Victoria.

I have known Iain Black since he joined the Board of Canuck Place Hospice for Children in 1999.
Canuck Place is a story of courage and vision and a shining example of the good that comes from individuals and organizations seeing a need in their community and working together to fulfill it.
In this case, there was a need to provide another care option for children with life-limiting illnesses and their families. An option that would give them the added flexibility to access hospice care, when hospital or home care could no longer meet their needs.
Throughout our association, in this important volunteer organization, it has been clear that Iain is an individual of integrity, compassion and dedication to the families and his community. There is no doubt in my position as Chair of Canuck Place Children's Hospice that Iain will be an excellent representative for all of his constituents as a member of the Legislature for Port Moody-Westwood

Vision and values are key tenets of leadership, but one must have integrity and the strength of character to see these objectives through to fruition. Iain Black is such a Leader! While working together in recent years, he applied his management skills effectively in a challenging environment with more than its share of ambiguity and adversity. More importantly, it was his leadership that inspired his team mates as they stayed the course in achieving their successes. British Columbia has an exciting future before it. It is with distinct pleasure that I commend Iain as "ready & able" for his quest to share in the leadership of our provincial government towards fulfilling our great potential for everyone.

Premier Gordon Campbell and the BC Liberal government have brought British Columbia back on track during the last four years. We’re posed for a great future with their re-election. I know Iain Black’s successful background and experience in both business and community activities will bring added strength to the team representing us in Victoria.

Iain's business successes along with his experiences as a volunteer enables him to understand not only the needs of our community but also broader issues concerning all British Columbians. His leadership qualities combined with the fact that he is an experienced public speaker convince me that, as an MLA, he will assure that our community continues to have strong representation in Victoria.
- Gerry Nuttall, Councillor, City of Port Moody

In addition to the high level of respect my husband and I have developed for Iain Black through nearly a decade of personal associations, from my vantage point with Dad Walk Canada 2003, I can attest to Iain's strong desire to be a responsible role model for his sons and others. That desire was clearly demonstrated by his personal involvement with Dad Walk. It is reinforced by his ongoing support for the White Ribbon Campaign (www.whiteribbon.ca), which sees men working to end violence against women by men. He sets a fine example by helping us to build awareness of the need to address this social injustice.
That example speaks highly of his commitment to services that will make his and other communities better places to live, work, play and raise families that believe in fairness and act accordingly. I know he will be a strong and compassionate MLA, working on behalf of all constituents in Port Moody-Westwood.
- Louise Raffa, B.C. Coordinator for Dad Walk Canada 2003

I have known Iain Black for 20 years, as a friend, neighbour and business colleague and I am proud to express my support for his election in Port Moody-Westwood on May 17. Iain is a great team player with strong leadership capabilities evident in his many volunteer and business activities. His business accomplishments were acknowledged in 1998 in his election as a recipient of the Top 40—Under 40 Award from Business in Vancouver newspaper. Our riding and British Columbia will benefit significantly by having Iain as our MLA.
